Website visits
Normal web server logs may be processed by the hosting provider for operation, security and troubleshooting.
Knotly app usage
Knotly reference content can be used without creating an account. Saved knots, language choices and similar preferences are intended to be stored locally on the device unless a future feature clearly says otherwise.
Feedback reports
If you send feedback from Knotly or zyqero.com, we may store:
- feedback type, message and suggested correction,
- optional email address if you provide one,
- app name, app version, platform, knot id and language code,
- technical security data such as IP address and user agent.
How feedback data is protected
New feedback records are designed to avoid cleartext storage of sensitive technical identifiers.
- IP address is hashed for spam/security blocking.
- User agent is hashed for spam/security blocking.
- Optional email is hashed so repeated reports can be recognized without exposing the address directly.
- IP address and user agent may also be stored encrypted for short-term troubleshooting.
- Encrypted IP and user agent data is scheduled for deletion after 30 days.
- Hashes may be retained longer for abuse prevention, rate limiting, spam handling and security blocking.
The admin backend can block a feedback source by hash without needing to keep the original IP address in cleartext.
Cookies
The public website is intended to avoid non-essential tracking cookies.
Admin areas may use necessary session cookies for login, CSRF protection and basic security. These are required for the admin backend to function.
If analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies are added later, this page should be updated before they are enabled.
Why we process data
- To operate the website and app-related services.
- To receive, review and fix feedback reports.
- To prevent spam, abuse and repeated malicious submissions.
- To troubleshoot technical issues.
- To improve content quality, translations and app functionality.
Retention
- Encrypted IP and user agent data from feedback is scheduled for deletion after 30 days.
- Feedback content may be kept while it is useful for review, fixes, audit trail or product quality work.
- Optional email may be kept while the related feedback or support need remains relevant.
- Security hashes and block records may be kept longer to prevent abuse and spam.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data.
